Sunnyvale Dynamos lost

Central Valley: Sukhwant 177 (83), Baldev 68 (54), Giri 8-0-75-4, Santosh 9-0-53-2, Atif 9-0-44-1
Dynamos: Santosh 30, Neeraj 29, Atif 32
Summary : Dynamos lost the first game against a very talented Fresno team. Nothing much to write about, as we did not fare well in all departments, but clear on areas to improve and also take few positives.

Dynamos lost the toss and were put into field. Atif and Arun D started the proceedings, and with pitch being wet, injury to Atif set us back a bit. But, he changed ends, and got going. Santosh provided the first breakthrough – the hard hitting opener caught superbly by Asif. By the 10th over they were 46/1. Atif struck then to get the #3 batsman, and just before the break, Gireesh came on and took the other opener’s wicket. After the break of 72/3, our bowlers lost the plot, and simply failed to execute on the plans. Sukhwant was brutal and played a chance-less innings of 170, scoring 50% of their team total. He was well supported by Baldev who scored 68 of 54. They ended with 374/9. We took all the catches that came our way, Neeraj – 2, Arun D – 2, Asif – 1. JC had a fantastic run out, We gave 28 wides, with some them coming with wet surface. Fast outfield, and high temperatures aside, we could have done better with ground fielding. Top 5 should bat out most overs, and lot of determination shown by middle and lower order, with Mayank, Santosh, Atif, Neeraj and Asif all getting 30-40’s. We need to tighten up few areas, but will be back strong.
