It was a nice warm day and Dynamos won the toss and had no hesitation to bat first.
Sanket and Jag opened the innings and were watchful for the first 5 overs. Once Jag got his eye in he started taking calculated risks every over and Sanket continued to rotate the strike. At the end of the first drinks break Dynamos were 55 for no loss. With a solid base set by the openers it was time to up the ante and increase the run rate by not loosing too many wickets. The Santa Clara team’s fielding started showing up where they started dropping regulation catches and run outs. Jag was dropped twice in one over and he made them pay for it. Sanket was controversially runout in 20th overs with the score on 74. Mayank was promoted up the order but he failed to trouble the score board. Sundar was the next man in and he along with Jag continued to score freely at 3 to 4 runs an over without taking too many risks. Sundar was out for a run a ball 23. At the end of the 2nd Drinks break Dynamos were 138/3. The next 15 overs put the nail in the coffin for the Santa Clara team where kept dropping catches and 120 runs were scored in 15 overs at Ortega. Jag moved to 99 by hitting a 4 and followed the next ball with a six over mid wicket to bring up his century in Sehwag style. Arun D kept rotating the strike and Raj B finished the innings with a small cameo.
With 261 to win , the cracks started showing up in the Santa Clara team where they started fighting among themselves (Classic Santa Clara Blame Game). Neeraj and Atif opened the bowling for Dynamos with Arun D and Sundar coming on first change. The bowlers bowled the 4 th stump line and the Santa Clara batsmen showed no intention of scoring runs. Two wickets fell to run outs with sharp work from none other than the maestro Jag himself and Priyankar.
At the end of first drinks break Santa Clara were 24/2 from 15 overs. The next 25 overs saw Dynamos bowl majority of spin from both ends and Santa Clara batsmen just looking to play of 45 overs. Sundar and Neeraj picked up 5 wickets among them and Santa Clara were finally all out for 119 in 42 overs with a brilliant one handed pick up and direct hit run out from Sundar.
Jag was adjudged the Man of the Match for his hundred and Sundar was the MVP for his all round game.
